Content Management Software Training

Course Overview:

When it comes to ensuring user adoption of any CMS solution, training is paramount. Our CMS software training course is for both website administrators and content editors.  In day one the focus is on ensuring CMS users learn how to perform their typical day-to-day tasks involved in creating and managing content. In day two site administrators will be trained to manage security, workflow and advanced editorial tasks.

Duration:

  • 2 days onsite or 12 hours for Virtual Training (Usually broken down into three 4 hour sessions.)

Prerequisites:

  • Course attendees are expected to have basic computer skills, including use of a web browser and word processing such as Microsoft Word.

Target Audience:

Content Editors/ Website Administrators - This course is intended for content editors and website administrators with little or no previous experience using CMS software. Attendees are not assumed to have programming experience, nor will the training contain any programming related tasks.

Training Delivery Options:

  1. Onsite: We offer training onsite at your location
  2. Falcon-Software Training Facility: At our training facility in Victoria, BC


Virtual Training Delivery:

  • Virtual Training through WebEx with the option of recording demos so users can access them on demand and use them as reference material.

Trainees will gain an understanding of the following topics:

  • Overview and Interface orientation
  • Profile management and system features
  • Editing and publishing content – using the editor
  • Deleting/Moving/Restoring content
  • Working with Taxonomy
  • Customizing Page Templates and layouts
  • Document Type orientation and review
  • Document Versioning
  • Built-in Modules orientation and review
  • Administrator Features
  • Design and configure custom workflow solutions that match business needs
  • Manage users and roles and assign access rights
  • Document level permissions
  • Modifying Site Navigation

After successfully completing this training course:

  1. Content editors should be able to perform basic and advanced content authoring tasks.
  2. Site Administrators should be able manager user and content permissions, setup workflows and perform basic administrative tasks.

Supplemental Training:

Learning a how to use a CMS solution in a couple of days can be overwhelming. For this reason we also provide on demand supplemental training through WebEx which is billed in 15 minute time block. You can pre purchase time blocks we usually recommend starting with a 4 hour time block.

WebEx Recordings of Training:

In addition we provide an option to have all WebEx training solutions recorded and made available to your staff. This allows for quick access to serve as a refresher or serve as reference material for new employees.
